What our Families have to say about our new meals.
" My kids loved the food! they said mum can you make what we had for lunch for dinner today."
" Getting ready is so much easier. I've got an extra 15minutes in the morning, and that time is so precious to me."
" I'm so excited my daughter is going to be trying different foods that she would never try for me at home. "
Life Education Queensland State Winner
CURRIMUNDI Childcare and Education Centre has won the Queensland Life Education Magic of Being Me Preschool Competition and with it, a $500 prize to spend on essential educational resources.
Currimundi was one of seven lucky preschool centres nationwide to have won the competition and the prize of learning resource vouchers was thanks to Life Education partner Educational Experience.
The centre littlies were thrilled to meet Life Education mascot Healthy Harold in person as he presented them with the prize.
The competition involved a creative activity which encouraged preschool centres to talk to children about healthy food choices.
Currimundi Childcare and Education Centre kindergarten teacher Brooke said the children had learnt about rainbow foods.
“The children had lots of fun learning about healthy eating choices, exercise and hygiene,” she said.
“We learnt about rainbow foods – coloured fruits and vegetables – and how they give us energy to play and grow.
“The kindergarten children enjoyed playing games with Healthy Harold and reading his special book.”
Centre director Leisa said they would put the voucher received to good use.
“We plan to spend it on a Quadrilla set with the music extension (a system of blocks and tracks that allows the energy of a rolling marble to travel along and fall on to each of the bells creating wonderful melodies), some art and craft materials, and a class set of rhythm sticks as part of our inclusive cultural resources,” she said.
“The kids loved doing the competition activity and it’s vital to teach them the importance of healthy eating when they’re young.”
The Currimundi Childcare and Education Centre has been awarded $500 to spend on education supplies after winning the 'Life Education's Magic of Being Me' competition. Students and teachers meet Healthy Harold.
